What Is A Lightworker & Are You One?

If you’ve heard the term lightworker before and if you are reading this article, you are a lightworker. I’ll go more in-depth into what one is, but just knowing that you are attracted to this article indicates that it is part of your path. If you weren’t one, you wouldn’t be attracted to reading an article about it.

A lightworker isn’t better than anyone else, they just have a different mission and have come to earth for a reason. We’ve all come to earth for a reason. However, a lightworker is usually the first one to get the energy upgrades and lead the way. They are leaders and usually awaken first.

What is a Lightworker?

I used to think a lightworker was a highly spiritual being like an angel. That is true but it also includes many more beings.

A lightworker is a person who is here on earth to bring and spread light across the world. A lightworker can be anyone either here in the physical world or in the spirit world.

Light is information and dark is secrets. A lightworker has a specific mission to help clear out the darkness and bring in the light.  They are here to raise the vibration of the planet. There is a massive ascension process and a lightworker’s assignment is here to assist with that mission.

They volunteered to do this before they incarnated into their current life. However, once they incarnated into their life and crossed the veil, they forgot that they came here for a specific mission. This can make them feel afraid because they don’t understand what is happening.

Some people are aware they are lightworkers and others are not. They may have come to know this through an awakening process or another way. Even if they don’t realize they are a lightworker they can still be of assistance. They don’t need to be aware they are a lightworker in order to help bring in the light.

There are a lot of lightworkers on earth right now because the world is rapidly changing and we need them all to help. A lightworkers path is usually quite different than other people’s paths. They may have different challenges and obstacles. This is part of their life plan to help bring light into this world.

Lightworkers shouldn’t be labeled by a certain stereotype as hippies or psychics or someone with a special ability. They are also ordinary people who don’t always have a specific psychic gift but are still here to help raise the vibration of the planet and bring awareness to others. If you are reading this article, then you are a lightworker.

Lightworkers are found all around the world and were specifically placed in different areas to hold space for the light. It is no coincidence where you were born as we need lightworkers all over.

How to Know If You Are a Lightworker?

As I mentioned above, if you are reading this then you are a lightworker. But there are a few other ways to know if you are a lightworker. If you are wondering if you are indeed a lightworker check out the list below to help you determine if you are here for a specific lightworker purpose in this lifetime.

#1 – You Want to Bring in Information (Light) to Others

Light is information and if you feel a calling to bring spiritual information to others, it is a good indication that you are a lightworker. A lightworkers mission is to bring information to others in order to help heal humanity and raise the frequency of the planet so that we can all ascend. The more people know about it, then the faster we can ascend.

It is your job as a lightworker to spread the light and information to others who are ready to hear it. So, if someone asks about it or you feel they are ready to hear it, then it is ok to present them with information. They get to choose what they do with it.

Of course, we don’t want to push our beliefs onto anyone, but if someone asks you about it or you feel it is right to talk about it, then that is part of your mission to spread that information.

#2 – You Want to Help Others but First Must Heal Your Own Life

A huge part of being a lightworker is healing yourself first. We all have traumas from this life and past lives that we need to heal and are being called to heal in this life. You may even be healing your ancestor’s trauma that they were not able to heal in their lives.

In order for you to move forward with your lightworker mission, you must first heal yourself so that you are able to help others and so that you know how to.

Often, we have to go through things ourselves at a deep level in order to help others. If we don’t go through stuff, then we wouldn’t be able to help others because we wouldn’t know how to. So, part of your mission here on earth is to first heal yourself and then to help others.

#3 – You Believe Spiritual Ways Can Heal Anything

You know that there is always a spiritual root to every disease and problem in this world. Things aren’t just the way they are for no apparent reason. You are a lightworker if you understand the ways of the universe and understand that your thoughts impact your body.

Anything can be healed through vibration and energy and as a lightworker, you trust in modern medicine but also know there is more to it than meets the eye. You know that there is a spiritual reason for physical pain and that you are capable of healing yourself through spiritual means.

#4 – You Accept Channeled Information and Don’t Think It Is Weird or Creepy

Channeled information can be seen as weird and creepy. I used to think it was so odd to see someone channel and it made me very uncomfortable. With time, I saw it as a natural experience and an amazing way of connecting with beings from the other side.

If you accept that channeled information is coming from somewhere and it isn’t someone just putting on a show, that is a good indication you’re are a lightworker. Not everyone believes that channelers are receiving divine information and it makes some people super uncomfortable.

But, if you understand that the channelers are here to help us and that we can connect with them to help us and humanity, that means you too are a lightworker (as are all channelers).

#5 – You Are Aware That You Create Your Own Reality and Understand Universal Laws

Being a lightworker means that you are aware that there are certain laws that govern our world. Whether it is the law of attraction or the law of polarity, you know that certain rules govern our world.

You understand that you create your own reality through the law of attraction and take full ownership of it. You understand that no one is doing anything to you or punishing you for anything. You are the one in charge and always have been.

Lightworkers accept these universal laws and take responsibility for their lives. They understand that there is an order to the universe and nothing is random. There are no coincidences, your world is created by you and orchestrated perfectly with the laws of the universe.

#6 – You Have Had Mystical Experiences with Angels, Guides, or Energy from Beyond the Veil

If you are a lightworker, you’ve probably had certain experiences with those in a different dimension. Beings that we cannot see with our physical eyes are real and here to work with us and especially with lightworkers. So, if you’ve had an experience with them and believe in what you’ve experienced and accept it as real, then you are a lightworker.

Not everyone accepts these things as real. But a lightworker knows for certain that these experiences and beings are valid. They know that just because you can’t see something, it doesn’t make it not real. Believing is seeing, not the other way around. Lightworkers usually believe in something before they are able to see it.

They trust that we are not alone in this world and that other beings exist in a different dimension. These beings are here to help us and especially guide us along with this ascension process.

#7 – You Have A Deep Interest in Spiritual Things and You Want to Learn More And More

Lightworkers love learning about spiritual things and always want to learn more and more. They find it fascinating and interesting. It’s almost like they don’t know how they lived before knowing this stuff and don’t understand how it’s not a normal part of our school curriculum.

Lightworkers enjoy metaphysical and spiritual things so much that at times and especially at the beginning of their journey they dive in and become almost obsessed with learning as much as they can. They just can’t get enough.

#8 – You Have Had A Near-Death Experience That Changed You and The Way You Look at Things Forever

Some lightworkers have had near-death experiences that shifted the whole course their life was on and changed their beliefs. It is like a wake-up call to wake them up to their lightworker duties.

Many other people who have not had near-death experiences have had an experience or many smaller experiences that basically woke them up into their lightworker duties.

That experience will be different for everyone. But basically, it was something that changed the way you looked at things in your reality forever. You know there is no going back as this new way feels so right and true for you.

#9 – You Feel Like an Outsider and Have Never Understood Why

Often lightworkers feel like outsiders. Why is this? It can be for many reasons. Maybe you are from a different planet and this place just doesn’t feel like home. Or maybe you were meant to be alone for a period of time in order to activate your lightworker gifts. Perhaps by being an outsider, you dug deeper for answers and meaning which led you to your lightworker duties.

Everything that happens is for a reason and is often a reason that you chose before you incarnated. So, if you’ve felt alone and isolated, it may be for a greater purpose. You may be here to bring and share light with others and you wouldn’t have been able to if you had tons of friends around you the whole time.

Feeling like an outsider isn’t because you are one or that you are weird or unlovable, it is for a purpose. Embrace your uniqueness and know that it is good to be different and if you feel like an outsider it may be because you have different work to do than those that are always included.

#10 – You Are Interested in The Metaphysical

You are a lightworker if metaphysical concepts interest you. Maybe you think it is so fascinating to learn about parallel realities and know there must be something to it. Or you know that our concept of time is an illusion and are interested in really understanding how it all works.

#11 – You Believe in Things That You Can’t See

You know there is more to life than just this physical world. This one relates to #6, where you believe in something before you see it. You may never get proof, but every cell of your being believes that it is true for you.

That’s what a lightworker is; they believe in it because they trust how they feel. Lightworks use their feelings as guidance and don’t rely solely on their mind to tell them if something is true or not.

#12 – You Don’t Feel Like You Are from This Planet and It Doesn’t Feel Like Home

Sometimes you yearn to just go home, wherever that may be for you. Maybe you are from a different planet and earth feels foreign to you.

At times, the density of this planet can be a lot for a lightworker. They are here to bring light and peace and the duality and negativity can really get to them. So, they earn to go home to where there is more bliss and oneness.

If you’ve ever said, “I just want to go home”, there’s a good chance you are a lightworker and here for a mission. You incarnated for a temporary period of time to help out with the ascension process and you know this isn’t your true home.

#13 – You Have Experienced Dark Night of the Soul

Dark night of the soul is a period of time that transitions you from where you are to a new vibration. It is essentially shedding the old you and shedding a part of your ego in order to move you forward on your spiritual path.

Dark night of the soul can be confusing and difficult. It almost feels like depression because you don’t understand what is happening and you don’t feel like yourself (aka shedding a part of you that no longer serves you.) Just as a caterpillar goes into a dark cocoon and comes out transformed like a butterfly, you too come out transformed into a new being.

You have to go into the dark in order to come out as something new. You need to shed those parts of you that you’ve been carrying for lifetimes that are no longer for your highest good.

#14 – You Have A Strong Intuition

Often lightworkers have strong intuition but aren’t always aware of it. They may make choices and do things based on their intuition and it works out perfectly, but not always aware that they are following their intuition.

Really try and pay attention to when your intuition is speaking to you. It is that voice and that feeling that tells you “this is right” or “this is wrong.” It is usually quiet and gently guides you. Of course, if you are in danger the intuition will get much louder to keep you from harm.

But often it’s that feeling that doesn’t always make sense but feels right.

Lightworkers have strong intuition and when they follow it, they can create amazing things for themselves.

What is Your Mission as a Lightworker?

Your mission as a lightworker is to hold the light and present information to others who are seeking it. Light is information and darkness is secrets and hidden stuff.

Everyone’s mission is different and some are on a smaller scale while others are on a bigger scale.

One lightworkers mission may be to present information to the world, whereas another’s may be to be kind and joyful to people they interact with in their day. It is whatever is right for you.

You can do a meditation to ask what your mission is. Or ask your spiritual team and higher self to show you what your mission is as a lightworker. You can’t get it wrong. Whatever you choose to do with it is ok and right for you.

Bottom Line: What is a Lightworker?

Just by wanting to read this article, it shows that you are a lightworker. You’ve probably been exploring the metaphysical and have had this knowing that you are here for a reason. Lightworkers serve humanity and are here to shine a light on the world and hold space for love.

You can get in a quiet space and ask what your next steps are on your lightworker mission and then pay attention to the information you receive.

Maybe it’s just to spread joy wherever you go. Or perhaps it is something on a grander scale. Either way, lightworkers are the wayshowers for others and we are here to make the way and hold the light to raise the consciousness of humanity.
