Physical pain is a lot more than just injuring yourself, getting old, or having bad luck. I can’t speak enough about how physical pain is often your body’s way of trying to get your attention to something that is going on in your mind. If you don’t address this pain, it gets bigger and tries to reach you at a deeper level.

Physical pain may also be an energetic experience that is happening to you to help you. Not all is as it seems when it comes to your pain.

Below we go over 7 spiritual reasons for physical pain as well as ways to help ease your discomfort and even possibly fix your physical pain.

#1 Spiritual Reason for Physical Pain – Your Body is Forcing You to Slow Down

Injuries can be your body’s way of slowing you down. If you are constantly going hard and you don’t ever take a break, then your body will force you to slow down by getting injured.

You won’t be able to do anything until the injury and/or pain is healed. Therefore, you will have no choice but to slow down. Or you will at least have to go at a much slower pace than you are used to.  

It can be hard to slow down if you are a real go-getter but sometimes that is what your body needs if you’ve been going hard for a while.

During this time make sure to relax and give your body the relaxation it has been craving.

#2 Spiritual Reason for Physical Pain – The Universe is Trying to Get Your Attention

The universe may be trying to get your attention to move you toward a change in your life. If you don’t listen, the pain keeps getting louder to try and get your attention.

Here’s a personal example of my life. I love CrossFit and absolutely loved the place I was going to. However, I couldn’t do it for a couple of months when I was away for work. When I came back, I was getting injury after injury, and they weren’t even all CrossFit related. Something as simple as running was causing me pain.  I couldn’t figure out what was going on?

I have been doing CrossFit for 3 years on and off and have never had these injuries. They were so weird too. My foot swelled up and I had no idea what from. I couldn’t bend my knee properly for 3 weeks, my lower back was sore, and this was all after I was out for 5 weeks due to a trapezius injury!

I believe it was the universe moving me to a new path. So, I asked the universe are you trying to get me to switch gyms for some reason? Because you are preventing me from doing CrossFit where I am at. What is the spiritual reason for my physical pain?

Right after that, the universe sent me some drama at that gym to seal the deal and I left.

Shortly after I left all my injuries dissipated and I am going to a new CrossFit place where I am in no pain. You see, I would have never left that place on my own because I love all the members there so much. So, the universe forced me to leave for some reason that I know is for the best. 

You may be in the same boat. The universe might just be trying to get your attention by throwing some pain your way. There might be something that the universe is trying to get your attention about and if you haven’t been listening it will start to cause you pain.

If you feel this is true for you, ask the universe to show you what your next step is in order to move you forward on your path. Ask what you need to change and what new direction you need to go in. Listen and pay attention to the signs for your answer. 

#3 Spiritual Reason for Physical Pain – Your Chakras are Out of Balance

If your chakras are out of balance you may be in physical and/or emotional pain. Chakras are your energy centers that breathe life into your physical and emotional bodies. If they are out of balance, eventually you will experience pain.

As an example, I work out quite often, and sometimes I will get a little bit of pain completely out of the blue. I always think back to my workouts and see if there was anything I did out of the ordinary or if I lifted something extra heavy. If the answer is no, then I know I need to get to the bottom of this pain at another level. What is going on in my mind that is trying to get my attention?

My lower back started hurting and I didn’t do anything in the workout, so I knew my root chakra was unbalanced. The root chakra has to do with material needs such as security and money.

This made perfect sense, at this time I had just quit my job. Even though I did get a new one, I hadn’t started receiving a paycheck yet, so I was slightly worried about money. I thought I wasn’t worried about my finances, but my body told me otherwise.

I needed to address this issue, clear my chakras and do a meditation to bring everything back into balance. It is quite amazing how our physical pain can help us see what is going on with us on an emotional level.

#4 Spiritual Reason for Physical Pain – Past Life Injuries and Illnesses

I’ve heard many stories of individuals who have pain, and they don’t know what it is from and then they do a past life regression and find out that it is actually from a past life. Once they heal what they need to from their past life, then the pain goes away. 

This isn’t a super common thing as we usually try to let go and detach from past life stuff before choosing to incarnate into a new life. But if it really affected you in a past life, it may be coming up again in this lifetime.

I’ve also heard of people in this life getting physical pain out of the blue at a certain age, only to do a past life regression and see that in a past life they experienced the same thing at the exact same age. It is almost like their memory was triggered when they turned a certain age. If they have a powerful connection to that past life, they can bring it into their current life.

I read about this one girl who was severely injured by a bomb (it was all planned before both her and the other person incarnated) and after the explosion, she opened up all her psychic gifts. She became a full-blown psychic.

This was all planned as her spiritual awakening before she incarnated. Even the bomber agreed to help her out by setting off the bomb so that she could have her spiritual awakening. It sounds crazy but also very fascinating.

Pain that moves isn’t usually from a long-time injury. In the same way that our emotions move, our pain can also move.

It is moving because you didn’t pay much attention to it in your shoulder, so it is going to bother another area of your body to try to get your attention.

The earlier you catch the issue and address it, the easier it is going to be to fix it. Once your issue has a lot of momentum going it is more difficult to stop it and it is also going to give you more pain.

You don’t want it to get so bad that it turns into a disease. That won’t happen right away, it can take years of not dealing with an issue before it becomes a disease. 

It will try to get your attention as much as it can before it gets to that point, but it really is up to you to do something about it as soon as you notice it.

#1 Way to Fix Your Physical Pain – Check in on Your Emotional State

The first thing you want to do when you get pain is to think about what is going on in your mind. Are you frustrated, sad, or angry? Chances are something is going on if you are getting pain.

Where has your vibration been lately? Have you been sad most of the day? Really think about how you feel most of the day.

Meditate on the answer if your rational mind doesn’t know. Connect to your heart space as it always knows the answer. 

One thing that Abraham Hicks says about physical pain is that it shows up in the same form that your state of mind is in. So, think about your pain.

• Is it causing you to not be able to move? If that is the case, then what in your life was happening right before the injury that was making you feel like you couldn’t move forward?
• Is your pain draining your energy? If so, think about what in your life was draining your energy before you got sick.
• Is it making you feel sore and frustrated? What was happening in your life in the weeks before that was making you frustrated? Really try to pinpoint the spiritual reasons for your physical pain.

Your injury or chronic pain is a direct correlation to what is happening in your mind. I know you may be thinking “but I hurt it while I was snowboarding.” Yes, that may be true but there was energy there before that caused you to hurt yourself snowboarding.

I would suggest finding physical as well as emotional ways to heal the pain you are experiencing. Just because there is a spiritual reason for your physical pain it doesn’t mean you only need a spiritual way to fix it.

Yes, try to find what the problem is and fix it spiritually, but doctors can help ease your pain as well. Everything works in combination with each other. We are spiritual beings, but we live in a physical world.

When I get hurt, I always go to my chiropractor and osteopath. It is also worthwhile to do meditative exercises to try and figure out what is going on and how to fix it also. Think about what state you were in before you hurt yourself.

I can always correlate that I was feeling sad, frustrated, or hurt before my injury. It is a good idea to try to find multiple avenues for fixing it.

Maybe you want to try acupuncture, reiki, or go to a medical intuitive.  There are a ton of professionals that can help you in both a mental and physical way to heal from pain. Sometimes it is a matter of trying out different ones to find the best fit for you.
