1. Thinking That It’s Not Manifesting, When It Is, (Just in A Different Way Than You Imagined)

When you are trying to manifest something with the law of attraction, it more often than not will not happen in the way you think it will. This trips a lot of people up.

You probably have a picture in your head of how it will happen. You’ve probably visualized exactly how it will manifest.

So, when things start unfolding that appear to be different than how you visualized them, it can make you think that what you are doing isn’t working. You may think you are manifesting the opposite of what you want.

Here’s where you need to hold your vision. The universe knows the best way to bring you something and it is usually in a completely different way than how you envision it. In fact, it is usually in a way you could never imagine.

If you look back, you’ll be able to see that you could have never thought of all the steps in the way the universe did. The seemingly unrelated steps (at the time) were actually all related and brought you to your manifestation.

For example, let’s say you are trying to manifest your ideal income. You are at a job that is ok, but it doesn’t pay you what you want. So, you visualize your boss giving you a raise to match your ideal income.

Then, suddenly, you get laid off. You think, “this law of attraction stuff clearly doesn’t work because it gave me the opposite of what I wanted.”

Because you are now laid off, you have to figure out a new plan. So, you decide to start your own business. You’d never attempt this if you were at your job because you wouldn’t have the time or energy for it. Anyways, once you are up and running, you end up making exactly what you envisioned as your salary.

Do you see how this works? Your ego probably thought that everything was wrong because it cannot envision things happening in a different way than it expects (the ego is stubborn).

But your higher self knows exactly how something can happen as it can see futures that your ego can’t, and it has a bird’s eye view.

If you can trust the feeling and hold your vision you will get what you want.

Know that the ‘how’ may look different than you envision it. But if you are doing the work and finding the feeling of what you want then it will manifest in your life.

Trust in the path that is unfolding and be willing to be flexible. This will make it easier for the universe to deliver to you what you want.

2. Trying to Force Someone Else’s Free Will

When working with the law of attraction, you need to understand that everyone has free will and you can’t force someone to do something. The best way to work with free will is to attract what you want to you but to not be set on the people involved in your manifestation.

For example, let’s say you really want your boss to give you a raise. So, you visualize money coming to you and you visualize your boss offering you more money. Then, out of the blue, your friend calls you up and tells you that there is a job opportunity at her company, and it pays exactly what you were manifesting!

But you are manifesting your boss giving you a raise where you work now, and you are set on it happening that way. So, you turn down your friend’s offer and continue to try to ‘force’ your current boss to give you a raise.

This is an example of trying to force someone’s free will. You manifested what you wanted, it just looked different than how you thought it would.

Only the players who match the frequency you are giving off can come to join you where you are. Your current boss isn’t on the same frequency, so it came to you another way.

This happens a lot with people as well. If you really want a specific person (which you can manifest but that is a totally different article), you may be absolutely set on getting this person because you think they are what you want. But sometimes they aren’t, even though they may appear to be. This is especially true if you don’t know them very well. You may think they are everything on your list and wonder why you aren’t attracting them after all your visualization, journaling, affirmations, etc. that you are doing.

Other people may be asking you out and you are turning them down because you think they aren’t what you want. But what if they are pretty much exactly what you want, and you just don’t know it?

Frequency doesn’t lie and you will attract the people to you who match your frequency. It’s hard to know what someone is like without really getting to know them. When you do get to know them, you may see that they are exactly what you want.

I’ve done this many times and am speaking from experience. I’ve judged someone based on a first impression, only to see later how awesome they were. They were everything I wanted but I had no idea when I first met them.

If you are manifesting someone and they seem different than what you want, give them a second look because they may be exactly what you want. Once you get to know them you will see that the universe delivered you exactly what matches your frequency.

Understand that you have free and so do other people. Trying to force or convince someone of something never works. You have to get into vibrational alignment with what you want, see what shows up, and then take the inspired action.

3. Seeing Only One Path

This one goes hand in hand with #1 above where you are really set on the ‘how’ and therefore you may only see one path. You may think that your manifestation can only happen one way. There are infinite ways you can receive your manifestations and infinite paths to get you there.

So, the path you think will get you to your manifestation may be different than the path that the universe has in mind. It wants to guide you on the easiest, smoothest path and it knows which one that is.

You may be trying to forge one path, but the universe may be calling you in a new direction saying, “try this path instead. You will enjoy it so much more.”

If you can work with your intuition and higher self and go in the direction that feels the best even if the path looks different, it will lead you to your manifestation.

Take a deep breath and ask to be shown the best, most fun, and exciting path to lead you to your manifestation. Because the path to the manifestation can be just as fun or even more fun than the actual manifestation itself.

When you are manifesting, you are looking for a feeling. The path to your manifestation might provide you with the feeling you are looking for even more so than the actual manifestation.

Trust that there are many paths to get you to where you want to go. They usually appear different than the ones you have visualized in your head.

4. Not Giving It Enough Time to Manifest

Instant manifestations can happen, but here on earth, there is usually a time buffer. While our manifestations are becoming quicker (due to the shift in the energy of the planet), there is still a time buffer.

If you are trying to manifest and you visualize for one hour and then expect to see your results that day or within a day or two, it simply isn’t enough time. While this absolutely can happen, it more likely will take some time.

When you visualize, the universe begins to line up all those things in your experience to provide you with what you want. But it does take a bit of time. It might be lining up people, places, or situations to help you along. All these things take time to shift.

So, if you are trying to manifest and then it doesn’t happen right away, you may get upset or frustrated. This, in turn, throws resistance in your path which will ultimately slow down your manifestation.

The most important thing to do is to hold your vision and trust that even though it may take a bit of time, things are getting lined up behind the scenes. They have to be if you are holding your vision and doing the things that will bring you your manifestation.

5. Not Taking Massive Action

I’ve found there to be some misconceptions about the law of attraction and action. When the secret first came out, many people thought they could just visualize their life and sit at home and it would just happen. This is simply not true and one of the common law of attraction mistakes.

There is another law called the law of action that states you need to take action to achieve your goals.

So, while the law of attraction can help to bring you the circumstances and events that you want and open those doors, it is up to you to step through the doors. Your free will and actions will determine what happens.

It is about taking inspired action from the heart, not fearful, ego action. Massive action breeds massive success. The Law of attraction can help you to reach your goals, but it is up to you to take action on them.

If you look at any successful person, they took action towards their goals. A lot of it was probably inspired action so may not have even felt like work but it is still action.

So, if you do get an inspiration to do something and feel pulled in a certain direction, it is up to you to explore it further. Visualize and create what you want in your mind and then step through the doors when they present themselves to you.

Remember that your higher self is powerful; it can see all the infinite paths to lead you to your manifestation. It has a much broader view than your human mind can perceive.

Your higher self speaks to you through your feelings. Trust that when you feel joy, that is your higher self guiding you. You will be led to your manifestation so much quicker and will be able to avoid these common law of attraction mistakes.
