Before I knew anything about spirituality I was depressed. I was on every anti-depressant there was. I had to keep switching medications because they gave me such horrible side effects and my body is really sensitive to medicine.

I didn’t know anything about the law of attraction, spirituality, spirit guides, my life purpose and I felt lost. I felt like I didn’t fit in anywhere and I felt completely helpless. I was a victim of my circumstances and blamed other people for my unhappiness. I blamed my boss when I didn’t make enough money at work. I blamed my ex when I was hurt that he left me. I also blamed myself a lot – for not figuring it out.

I knew there was more to life. I knew it to the very core of my being. I hit rock bottom and even attempted to take my own life at one point. There was nowhere to go but up.

Through all of it, I felt this presence with me. I felt like someone was looking out for me and protecting me. I didn’t know what it was, but I felt it.

Once I began exploring spirituality, everything shifted for me! I had discovered a whole new world that I never knew existed before and it all made so much sense. I began to understand life like I never did before. I no longer felt like a victim or powerless.

#1 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I No Longer Felt Like a Victim (I Felt Powerful)

Feeling powerless is a horrible feeling. When you feel like you have zero control of your life and life is happening to you, it can be difficult. You may think “why bother trying, I have no control anyways.”

Once you understand that you have control of your life, you take your power back.

That is what I did. I no longer felt like some helpless little girl who had no idea what I was doing in life.

I understood that I could create my life and I wasn’t a victim. I understood that everything is a choice. You can choose to be a victim, or you can choose to be powerful. It took me a while to choose the latter but eventually, I did and that’s when my world shifted.

You are also a powerful human being who can take control of your life. It all starts with making the decision to take back control and not let life control you. You know what you want and you can go after it and create it for yourself.

#2 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Understood Law of Attraction & How I Create My Own Reality

This one ties into the first one but once you learn about the law of attraction, you feel really powerful. I wasn’t taught about the law of attraction in school. My parents kept telling me to be happy, but I didn’t know why I would. I didn’t know that it literally could change my world.

I learnt about it around the same time most people did when the secret came out. Even at that time, I didn’t know if it was actually real. I dabbled a bit, bought some Abraham Hicks books and then threw them out! I thought it was too good to be true for a while because I didn’t really understand it. Not the way I understand it now at this level.

Eventually, I found my way back and really started incorporating it into my everyday life. I began to understand that the law of attraction was more than just thoughts, it was also the actions I was taking.

The fearful actions weren’t helping. Only the authentic, love-based actions are the ones that seemed to change my reality. When I followed my heart, that’s when things shifted.

The Law of attraction is working all the time and you can create any life that you want. Once you learn how to harness the power of the universe, you can create life on your own terms and create the experiences you and your higher self want to have.

#3 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Understood Why I Incarnated

Before I knew about spirituality, I didn’t understand why I was here. I questioned life all the time and the meaning of life. I now understand it at a much deeper level than I ever thought possible. I feel at peace with what I know and am so incredibly thankful that I understand it the way I do.

I no longer fear the unknown, death or anything really. It all makes so much sense to me and I am so grateful to have another incarnation on earth especially at this time with the new energies coming in.

Do you know why you incarnated? Sometimes it takes digging a bit deep for that answer. The simple answer is to experience joy and happiness. You incarnated to have experiences here on earth that are joyful and expand your soul and your consciousness.

Because I learnt so much about life, I feel much happier and lighter. It is as though the weight of not knowing has been lifted from my shoulders and I am so happy to have this knowledge. My energy is lighter and not so serious.

At times, we can get way too serious about life, work, our responsibilities, etc. But when you do experience those moments of bliss, really try and milk them and allow them to be there. Allow yourself to feel joy just because that’s what you CHOOSE to feel. There doesn’t have to be a reason.

#5 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Trust in My Experiences & Appreciate Them

Before learning about spirituality, I didn’t trust my experiences AT ALL. I thought things were happening to me because I was unlucky and that my life was fated to be horrible.

I now see that as completely wrong. I now appreciate all my experiences and see how they benefit me. There is always good and bad to every situation.

Before I only saw the bad, but now I see the good in things. If you dig deep enough, you can see the good in a ‘bad’ situation and appreciate what it is here to show you.

Can you find the good in a ‘bad’ situation? I do this exercise where when I am in a situation that I don’t like, I journal all the good things that my current ‘bad’ situation is providing me with. It really helps to shift your perspective.

# 6 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Connected with My Spiritual Team for Divine Guidance

This has been one of the funnest things about diving into spirituality – connecting with beings on the other side. I have had a lot of fun with my spirit guides. I know that they are always here with me, even if I feel very alone. I know that they will help me and guide me in the direction my higher self wants to go.

This is available to everyone. Anyone can receive divine guidance from their spiritual team. Your spirit guides enjoy connecting with you and working with you. All you have to do is ask and then follow their guidance.

#7 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Learnt How to Trust My Own Intuition

I can’t tell you how many times I ignored my intuition and had less than pleasing outcomes. Throughout those experiences, I really learnt to trust my intuition and that feeling that something isn’t right, or something is right.

Now whenever my intuition speaks to me, I don’t question it like I used to. I just follow it because I know that it knows the best path for me.

Paying attention to your intuition and learning how to follow it is a skill that anyone can develop. There are ways to learn about your own intuition, how to hear it, trust it and follow it. You have powerful intuition as well and it is always guiding you.

#8 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Became Authentic & Stopped People Pleasing

When I first started out on my spiritual journey, I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t want anyone to think I was weird. I also didn’t want to make anyone else uncomfortable by having these beliefs. I’ve always been a people pleaser and I do my best to make everyone around me comfortable.

I realized that I was ok to have my own beliefs and that I’d never make everyone comfortable. It was literally impossible to please everyone. So, I might as well do my thing, be authentic and not be scared to show the world what I know. Why would I keep it to myself if it has helped me so much? It’s almost selfish to not share it with others if it can help them also.

Being spiritual is about being authentic to you and being you no matter what. It is about understanding that it is ok to try and make others happy but if they want to go another direction than you, it is ok. It is ok to not have everyone on the exact same path as you.

#9 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Learned How to Set Healthy Boundaries 

Before diving into spirituality, I used to think that in order to be a good person I had to please other people and do whatever I could to make them happy even if they were taking advantage of me. In fact, I never recognized when people were taking advantage and I had no idea that I was letting people walk all over me. I had zero awareness.

Once I began exploring spirituality, I realized that I was being taken advantage of in certain situations and that it was actually an act of low self-worth that was causing me to do it. I so badly wanted people to like me that I’d let them take and take.

Once I understood what was happening, I learnt how to set healthy boundaries and understood that it was an act of self-love to do so. Loving yourself means that you stand up for yourself no matter if other people don’t like it.

I believe that setting healthy boundaries is very important for protecting your own energy. If you constantly give without receiving, then your energy will be off. This will affect you, but it will also affect other people. What we do as individuals affects humanity as a whole. It sends off a ripple effect into the universe.

Setting healthy boundaries in your work and personal life is an act of love and it isn’t selfish to do so.

#10 – How Diving Into Spirituality Changed My Life – I Have More Fun 

Diving into spirituality has brought me more fun. Since my energy is lighter, I don’t take life so seriously and am able to have more fun. I have fun with my spirit guides, and I feel the energy of them more often.  I also know how to set the intention of having fun and allowing it into my experience.

Having fun is something that I believe we all need a little more of. When you are having fun, you are in the present moment and really living from your higher self’s perspective.

Is there an area of your life where you can have more fun? Maybe plan a day to go out and just have fun. Let go of the worries and just enjoy the day and be fully present in the moment.

Bottom Line: How Diving into Spirituality Changed My Life

I am no longer the person I was before I dove into spirituality 20 years ago. I feel like I’ve lived 20 lifetimes in one; I’ve learnt so much and changed so much. Diving into spirituality was the best things I did for my soul.

Once you dive in, there is no going back. You can never go back to the way things used to be because you know too much. You get a taste for this new reality and it is so amazing that you never want to go back. You don’t want to go back to being asleep when you are now awake.

You are capable of using universal power and spirituality to shift your life as well. Spirituality is about connecting to your soul. What is your soul being called to do? Pay attention to it and then go in the direction of your highest joy.
